Cortona D.O.C. Syrah
Our latest project. Still a Syrah, made up of the vineyards now older, once intended to Borgo. Autonomy of expression and rich shades in substance.
The fruit is more vital and natural, with a classic fruity feeling from raspberry to red currant with pepper and balsamic gusts. Tasty in the mouth and well-balanced, this wine has a young spirit but is firmly as substance.

Aromas of ripe berry and slightly roasted meat follow through to a full body, velvety tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Intense yet very refined and polished. Why wait? Drink now.

Pale red-ruby. Vanilla, red cherry and smoky plum on the fresh, vibrant nose. Then very refined and silky in the mouth, offering graceful flavors of spicy red cherry and herbs neatly framed by noble tannins. Finishes clean and long, with enticing juicy acidity.

This red shows very pretty plum and raspberry character with peach undertones. Full body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Super-integrated. A new wine from old vines. Better in 2015.”

The 2010 Cortona Borgo Syrah Vecchievigne is a standout creation with many excellent qualities on offer. First and foremost is the wine’s texture that is plump, sweet and richly textured. The bouquet is equally compelling with balsam herb, eucalyptus leaf, black pepper, cured meat and pressed blackberry. The aromas are both pleasurable and distinctive. Syrah is another grape variety that performed very nicely in the classic 2010 vintage.
